Brewing Year-Round

El Jefeweizen / Wheat Ale

Our unique twist on a classic Bavarian hefeweizen. This hazy straw-colored brew delivers refreshingly light malt character from a combination of barley, red wheat, and flaked wheat.  Subtle notes of clove and banana from a carefully-managed fermentation with German hefeweizen yeast. Notes of berry and melon from new-school American hop varieties round out this easy-drinking thirst quencher. 5.6% ABV, 35 IBU

Malts: Two-row pale, Red wheat, Flaked wheat, Caramel 20, CaraWheat

Hops: Cluster, Belma, HBC342

House Pale Ale

Our contribution to the style that arguably invented the American craft beer scene.  A golden ale bursting with classic American hop flavors of pine and citrus.  A touch of caramel malt balances the hops without stealing their limelight.  Crisp, balanced, refreshing, a perfect brew for almost any occasion.  5.7% ABV, 45 IBU

Malts: Pale ale malt, Crystal 20

Hops: Cluster, Cascade, Centennial

House IPA

Of course we could hardly call ourselves American craft brewers without an American IPA in the lineup!  Ours is loaded with piney, citrusy, and fruity American hops, with just a hint of malt sweetness to keepit (somewhat) in balance.  Aggressively bitter and loaded with intoxicating hop flavor and aroma, but not quite hoppy enough to strip the enamel off your teeth (unlike some other IPAs on the market).  A sublime pleasure for the hop newbie and devotee alike.  7.2% ABV, 75 IBU

Malts: Pale ale malt, Vienna

Hops: Cluster, Chinook, Amarillo, Centennial

Dubbel Team / Belgian Abbey Dubbel

A classic Belgian Dubbel in the style of the Trappist monks, this garnet-colored brew delivers a marvelously complex mix of flavors. Bready/malty sweetness combines with toffee and fruit notes from Belgian specialty malts and wonderful spicy flavors from the Trappist yeast.  A good helping of homemade candi sugar helps keep the body of this boozy ale quaffably light.  A hint of bitterness and spicy noble hop flavor round out this enchanting brew.  7.5% ABV, 20 IBU

Malts: Two-row pale, Vienna, Crystal 120, CaraVienne

Hops: Tettnanger

Cygnus X-1 Stout

A classic American stout.  Big, bold, and jet-black (it is, after all, named for a well-studied black hole), this stout is brewed with standard American pale malt, some extra dark crystal malt, heaps of roasted barley and chocolate malt, and some flaked oats to give it an extra-creamy mouthfeel.  Bursting with dark caramel, chocolate, and roast notes, this beer is fermented with British ale yeast to leave some hefty malt sweetness behind, balancing both some medium herbal/earthy hop bitterness and the sharper edges of the roasted malt flavor.  A perfect beer to sip while you watch the leaves fall, or whenever the mood for a hearty stout strikes!  6.6% ABV, 46 IBU.

Malts: Two-row, Pale Ale, Crystal 120, Chocolate, Roasted Barley, Flaked Oats

Hops: Columbus, Willamette

Seasonal Brews

Imperial Car Destroyer / Brown Ale

A mild-mannered British-style brown ale cranked up to 11. Strong caramel and toffee notes from a healthy dose of dark Crystal malt, coupled with rich roast flavors and mild, earthy hop bitterness. Sure to warm you up on a cold winter's night. 7% ABV, 32 IBU

Malts: Two-row pale, Maris Otter, Crystal 60, Crystal 120, Chocolate, Victory

Hops: Willamette

Naked Mole Rat / Mole Porter

A traditional porter, jet black with loads of roasted malt and a light hop bitterness to offset caramel malt sweetness, spiked with a blend of spices, cacao nibs, and homegrown peppers in the style of a Mexican mole sauce. Delightfully complex flavor with just a hint of heat, perfect for summer nights, autumn afternoons, really any time at all! 6.6% ABV, 40 IBU

Malts: Two-row pale, Chocolate, Flaked barley, Roasted barley, Crystal 60, Crystal 120, Black malt

Hops: Cluster

Bogwater / Wee Heavy

Styled after a traditional Wee Heavy (the strongest of the Scottish ales), Bogwater puts malt flavors front and center.  We use imported Scottish Golden Promise barley, dark crystal malt and a bit of smoked malt to round out the grain bill.  In our own twist on the Scottish style, we've also added a bit of Muscovado brown sugar for some molasses flavor and to dry out the beer a bit (Wee Heavies can often end up quite thick and sticky)  Huge notes of caramel, toffee, toasted bread, and other malty flavors dominate this sublime amber-brown brew, with just a hint of hoppiness to keep it from getting cloying.  Fermented cool and clean with Scottish ale yeast, and conditioned for 2 months to help the complex flavors meld together.  We think you'll really dig this beer.  10.6% ABV, 24 IBU.

Malts: Golden Promise, English Dark Crystal, Munich 20L, Roasted Barley, Smoked Malt

Hops: Cluster

Freezer-Clearer / Double IPA

We really, really, really love hops here at WrongSide. So when this years' hop harvest came in, we went a little wild and bought like 10 pounds (probably enough for 20 double IPAs this year). We needed to clear out any remaining hops from last year, so we made a super-hoppy DIPA. Deep gold in color, this beer is positively brimming with hoppy goodness. Huge quantities of Chinook and Amarillo hops combine with a complex malt bill to produce a big candied citrus and dank pine aroma, with a bitter but fruity flavor and dry finish. Highly drinkable (perhaps too drinkable, given the ABV) and refreshing.

Malts: Pale ale, Vienna, Honey

Hops: Chinook, Amarillo
